As we are approaching the Christmas season, we at Solidarity Ministries Africa wanted to take the time to express our gratitude and share a wonderful update with our supporters.
Thank you first and foremost for standing with us. We are grateful for your steadfast prayers and your financial support but above all for your love for this ministry. None of the work that we strive to accomplish can be done without the empowerment and blessing that comes from our Savior. Additionally all of our projects and initiatives require funding that you, our supporters, so faithfully provide for us. At all times we give thanks but all the more so during the holiday season where we all pause to remember the greatest gift that has been given to each of us.
Our First Tomato Harvest
Red and Green are the colors which often adorn our houses during the holiday season. The colors alone remind us of Christmas and abundant provision which often accompanies the season. Through a special blessing from God, the colors of red and green were seen for the first time last week in our greenhouses.
Several months ago we planted over 1000 tomato plants in two green-houses in an effort to grow and sell produce for profit. This was in keeping with our effort to become financially self-sustaining within 2-3 years. We were saddened when our first tomato plants grew to 7 feet tall but didn’t bear a single tomato! We were disappointed by this initial result but not disheartened and after replanting every tomato plant and asking the Lord to bless the harvest, we have our very first tomatoes ready to take to market. Thank you, Jesus, for blessing this undertaking. Red and green have never looked so good.
We pray the Lord’s blessings on you and your family this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
